Two Weeks With Landon

This Past weekend well we had Landon we went to Edmonton so he could play with his cousins there. They were all so excited to be having a sleep over, and they were even more excited to see they all had super hero pj's. The rest of the night they were all super heroes right up until it was time for bed.
We started to decorate Landon's room we got him some posters to put up on the walls (yes I am sorry no oilers posters. Landon does not like the oilers to much so it had to be flames). Here is his second poster we put up on the wall It's a cars poster and he (as you can see on his face) just loved that poster.
The first week we had Landon we had a Gilchrist reunion. It was a blast and Landon just loved playing with his cousins. We had a fun game of red rover in which we kicked some major butt. There was also a very intense scavenger hunt and once again Myself, Jon, Irene and Samantha won!
The kids had a blast playing hide and go seek this was their hiding spot The picnic at Bowness Park was a hit. we roasted hot dog and Marshmallows, but I think Landon's favorite was the grape pop.

Landon's New Pet!

We had Landon on a Friday when Ryan had to work which meant it was just me and the kids, so Landon, Samantha and I went down to the pet store and Landon picked out his very own fish. It was no surprise that he picked the Red fish and a green fish tank. We waited until Daddy came home from work (which was not easy for Landon) to put the fish in the water. It was a blast! At first Landon wanted to name the fish daddy (he names all his toys daddy) but Ryan and him talked about some other names for the fish and Landon decided on Goofy.

Trip to Edmonton!

We finally took Samantha on her first trip to Edmonton so she could meet her family, and so Landon could play with his cousins. The kids had a ton of fun. Tyler put bubbles in mom's pond and the kids had a blast playing with them (I don't know how happy mom was about the bubbles but the kids sure loved it). It was a lot of fun seeing everyone and I know Landon and Samantha had fun too even though Samantha cried the whole time we were there. Let's hope she will be happier next time we come up.

Baby Blessing

Okay so Ryan and I got a little behind on our blog again so here is the update. Well on June 10th was Samantha's baby blessing. It went great we had a ton of family support and Samantha as usual looked adorable! Ryan on the other hand was a little stressed out due to the fact that not only did he have to bless Samantha but he had to give a talk. He did amazing with both tasks. It is such a blessing to have a worthy priesthood holder in our home I love watching Ryan use his priesthood. Anyways back to Samantha as I said she looked so cute wearing a dress my mom made for her out of the left over material from my wedding dress and wrapped in a blanket given to us from Aunt Suzanne (Thanks mom and Aunt Suzanne). It was also great to have Landon there he is such a good brother to Samantha the past weekend he helped daddy and mama Tiffany watch Samantha and gave her lot's of Kisses.
Now that Ryan and I got our Camera fixed you can expect a lot more blogs from us, so Mark and Brooke you don't have to go off Jon and Jen's blog to see pics of us lol.

The Birth Story

Well Samantha is now 2 weeks old and growing more everyday! At our last visit with the doctor she said Sam has gained 11 ounces in a week. Now she is weighing in at 6lbs 6ounces. Before we know it she will be all grown up.
To follow the ways of Mark and Brooke I thought I would write what giving birth to Samantha was like. I guess I should start about a month ago I went to a doctor appointment when the doctor said I was measuring small so she wanted me to go in for an ultrasound. well three ultrasounds later they told me they would like to take the baby early because she just was not growing anymore. So I was on the waiting list to go in and have my baby. On Friday April 27th, 2007 I was over at Jon and Jen's house watching Jen's daycare kids for her when Jon came home and told me that Irene was coming over because I had to go to the hospital to have my baby.
We arrived at the hospital at 2:30pm and checked in. I was first sent to the triage room and hooked up to all sorts of machines. I stayed in there for what seemed like forever which was okay with me because Ryan had to run off to get Landon and give him to Jon and Jen to watch, and I didn't want to go through any of it without him there. Ryan made it back with lot's of time left. They then moved me into the labor and delivery room where they put an IV in me and broke my water. They started the patosin, and a few hours later I felt my first contraction. Things were going great until they raised my level of Patosin suddenly the contractions were starting to hurt. They checked me and I was at a 4. Remembering my classes I took I tried some different positions to help with the pain. I tried laughing gas which did nothing but make me feel drunk between contractions but nothing when they were happening. They later gave me some other pain medicine which lasts for 45 minutes, but honestly that did nothing as well. finally I said give me the epidural! The nurse checked me and said I was at a 9 so I had missed that boat. It came time to push...... I am not going to go into that one but let me tell you it was not fun.
After a few pushes out came Samantha it was so strange to see a little body come out of you, but both Ryan and I fell in love that instant. She has been such a blessing to our family.
Well that is the short version. Overall Samantha is so worth everything I had to go through. Oh and poor Ryan I think I broke his fingers at one point, but I was so grateful to have him there by my side.

A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL!!!

It hasn't really been 4 months since we last posted a blog has it? Considering the length in time between posts, I'd imagine that only the seriously crazy people with WAY too much time on their hands will be checking this post! :)

Well, the rumors are true. Tiffany gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Saturday morning at 1:37am. Mommy and Baby are doing just great. Tiffany got out of the hospital on Sunday afternoon, and her and the baby have been doing fantastic ever since. We named her Samantha Luella Gilchrist. I didn't realize how difficult naming a child could be. Tiffany was telling me the other day how it felt like we were playing house or something!

Well, without dragging this out any longer, here are some pictures!

Soooooooo cute I could just eat her! Look at those little feet! Something I forgot to mention earlier, we had Landon this weekend as well. Big thanks to Jon and Jen for letting Landon have a sleepover. Landon got to meet his baby sister on the day she was born! He's such a good boy, he spent a large part of Sunday in the hospital spending time with Tiffany and Samantha. I think I have the cuttest picture in the world saved on my cell phone now of Landon giving baby Samantha a kiss on her head. Just melts your heart.

Anywho, I should get some sleep. We have finally settled down in our townhouse, and have the computer all set up so we have no excuses for not posting more regularly.

Oh, very last note. April 28th 2007 was a very popular day. Not only was Samantha born but Marc and Brooke also had their son born on the same day! Congrads guys! Tiffany wants everyone to know that we had our baby first though! :P hehe. In addition to this, Matty boy Harris got married on the very same day! Holy popular day batman! Congrads Matt!

Gotta run,

Christmas Day. Round 1

Howdy from Cowtown,

Here's a few quick pictures of our early christmas with Makayla and Landon. Landon just LOOOVEESSS his nerf gun that Uncle Pat hooked him up with. Man, he's not even 3 years old and he already loves shooting things... be still my heart :P Honestly, could it be anymore obvious that he's just like his Daddy!? I love it! It was my first early christmas... and hopefully my last! It just doesn't feel right opening gifts a week before the 25th. What can you do though... can't win em all.

Not sure how to setup the pictures right, but the last few are of Landon/Dahl/Aaron and Me when they came up waaay back in november. I shoulda posted these earlier but I forgot. Please note.... Landon and Me whopped Aaron and Dahl in the box races. (Maybe whopped is a bit extreme) We also tried to let Aaron go for a ride but apparently he's gained some weight or something cause we could barely move him!

Enjoy!

Ryan
